David Michael George Garland, known as Michael Garland, was always destined to travel to pastures new and leave his own indelible mark on all the business he touched as well as contributing significantly to the communities he would live within. The high standards Michael set himself as a young man are the foundation stones that make him the success he is today. His career did in fact start at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London. Michael then went on to fill several positions at Wembley Stadium plc, London. He subsequently was involved in the exhibition industry at the Turret Group and then became Sales & Marketing Manager at the 320-acre Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh, which he positioned as Scotland’s leading outdoor events venue. Michael then moved to Ireland to fill the role of Director of Golf at Waterford Castle Hotel and Golf Club where he quickly built a reputation as a respected industry leader. Michael took on the role of CEO at Waterford & Tramore Chamber of Commerce in 2009. Michael is currently the founder of bizBoost and is a founding member of the voluntary organisation, Waterford Business Group (WBG), founded in March 2013.
